Meet the Cooking Wife...aka the Saucy Wench
There's a joke in my house whenever anyone cooks, it usually starts out with my husband or daughter saying, "This meal is going to be great! Do you know why?"
To which I'll respond, "No, why?"
Their usual reply, "Because I didn't have to cook it!" followed by a round of laughter.
Granted we don't say this at every meal, but I can guarantee you that I hear it at least once a month. It actually started one night when my husband decided to cook dinner. It's a rare occasion, but always a welcomed one. Whenever he cooks, it's usually followed by an "I hope it tastes okay" or "If you don't like it we can always order pizza." At this particular meal, my response was the one above and it has stuck ever since.
No one in my house loves to cook, but that is mainly because coming up with something to eat that the whole family can agree on is a chore in-and-of-itself. I'm sure you other mom's out there understand what I'm saying here.
While I don't know what direction this blog will take, I'm excited to see how it will develop over the days, weeks, months, and hopefully years ahead. I'm hoping that it will become a repository for my favorite recipes (and hopefully yours), and a place where we can share and have fun together. I hope you'll join me. I think we'll have a lot of fun!
